Winn, a beautiful red head whose full name is Edwin Arlen, was born May 3rd!  Coming into the world at 7#8oz, Winn was born to an incredibly strong and courageous mama!  His parents are totally in love.
Carrie and Luke worked together for close to 48 hours to bring their son into the family.  After 18 hours of labor at home, the unusual development of an urge to push on a less than completely dilated cervix complicated the birth.  Despite incredible work to resist the need to push, it became clear that we needed to head to the hospital for additional tools.  Using an epidural and eventual pitocin , Carrie continued to labor for another night and day.  In the end, Winn came into this world by Cesarean......welcomed in the OR by his parents and midwife.  Despite his long journey,  once born and in his mother's arms, Edwin immediately latched on and began to nurse!
