For Survivors
If you are reading this page there is a good chance you are pregnant or were recently pregnant. Allow me to say congratulations. Whether that feels joyful, false or scary, you are in the midst of a new beginning and that is something to celebrate. The journey can and usually does mean strange body sensations, giving trust to a stranger, trusting yourself to care for a child and dealing with body functions and fluids. You may find yourself dwelling on old memories, facing new or unexpected memories, discovering an abuse history you never knew existed or discovering courage you did not know you have. There will be bad days, weeks, even months. You will need to dig deep and reach out. There can also be joy, awe, pride and beauty. You have the strength you need. You have the right and the ability to take charge of your experience. This is your journey.
